About David

Hi, I'm David

I became a counselor because I believe people can change, and I've watched it happen [X] times over. My job is to meet you where you are, with kindness and no judgment, and help you get where you want to go.

Where I'm coming from

My story

[David writes this in his own words: two short paragraphs on how he got into counseling, what he's learned along the way, and why he does this work in Hickory.]

[Second paragraph: the moment or the people that shaped how he works today.]

Credentials

Licensed in mental health and addiction

Dual training means we can work on the whole picture: the drinking and the anxiety under it, the depression and the relationship that's straining.

  • LCMHCS, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS-S10673)
  • LCAS, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (NC #3493)
  • CCS, Certified Clinical Supervisor (NC #2067)
  • [Degree, school]
  • [Additional certifications or training]

How I work

What a session feels like

Practical

You'll leave with something you can use this week. We'll use approaches like [CBT, motivational interviewing; David to confirm], fit to you.

Honest

I'll tell you what I see, kindly. No lectures, no talking down, and no pretending I have a script for your life.

At your pace

You set the goals. Some people want quick tools for a hard season, others want to go deeper. Both are welcome.

Why it matters to me

Affirming care, for everyone

[David writes 3 or 4 personal sentences on why affirming care matters to him as an openly queer clinician, and what he wants every client to feel walking in.]

My promise: unconditional kindness. Whoever you are, whoever you love, whatever you're carrying, you'll be treated like a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Outside the office

A little more about me

[One human detail from David: what he does on weekends, a favorite spot around Lake Hickory, family, a hobby.]
