LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy
LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy in Hickory, NC
Openly queer, LGBTQIA+ affirming counseling in Hickory and by telehealth across North Carolina. A safe, judgment-free space to be fully yourself.
A space where you can just be you
You shouldn't have to spend your therapy hour educating your therapist or bracing for judgment. As an openly queer clinician, I get it.
Finding an affirming therapist in the Catawba Valley isn't always easy. Telehealth means you can see me from anywhere in North Carolina.

How I help
Care that starts from respect
No explaining required
Your identity isn't the problem to fix. We start from respect and focus on what you came in for.
Faith and family, too
Many of my clients grew up in church or have family who struggle to understand. We can hold all of that, without asking you to choose.
Recovery informed
I'm also an addiction specialist, so if substances are part of the picture, we can work on both in one place.
FAQ
Common questions
Do I have to be out to work with you?
No. You get to decide who knows what, and when. This is your space whether you're out to everyone or no one.
Do you work with families and parents?
[David to confirm.] Many parents want to support their kid and don't know where to start. That's a good reason to call.
Do you provide letters for gender-affirming care?
[David to confirm.]
Is telehealth private?
Sessions run on a secure video platform. You choose where you join from, so pick a spot where you can talk freely.
